Here you will find the presentations used during the leadership course in Nairobi, Kenya and Tanzania.
The first week entailed the introduction of flood based farming systems and rain water harvesting systems; flood diversion and distribution, flood hydrology and sediment management, and multiple use of floods including road water harvesting, ground water recharge, rangeland management, agroforestry as well as adaptation to climate change. There were interactive sessions with group work and discussions. The second week was a field excursion to a catchment area at the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. This offered the opportunity to interact and share experiences with the farming community in this area.
