Flood-Based Livelihoods Network

Through the Flood-Based Livelihoods Network (FBLN), partners in Africa and Asia are jointly dedicated to maximise the livelihood potential of flood prone areas by building strong farmer networks, conducting solution-orietned research and capacity building to create a new cadre of young professionals who can promote development of and investment in FBLS. The Network invites partners in the agriculture and water sector to work together to improve FBLS by improving practices related to water distribution, water rights, soil moisture retention and soil fertility, new crops and fisheries, and conflict mitigation mechanisms. This all with the fundamental aim to increase the potential of floodwater for agriculture and other livelihood uses.  The network consists of professionals, practitioners and farmers. At present the network has more than 800 members.

The Flood-Based Livelihoods Network is currently supported by IFADEuropean CommisionWorld Agroforestry Centre and FAO. To join the FBLN, which is free of charge, subscribe here! Read more in the brochure and folder or contact us for more information.
